90's Pop Grunge Collab Look | Fashion

Wednesday, 8 April 2015

I have been listening to 'I'm just a girl' and playing with my makeup all day to create a 90's grunge look that is inspired by the punk pop princess Gwen Stefani. Unfortunately I didn't have any diamantes to stick around my eyes, so I added some glitter instead and focused on the tight hair buns (excuse my roots they have gone wild).

For this look I have collaborated with another blogger, deciding on the 90's for inspiration to create two lookbooks. You can access Georgia's blog White Skirt Chic here* so keep your eyes peeled for her take on the 90's grunge scene. Where I went for the pop punk side of the times she will be dressing more teen angst nirvana style. You can also check Georgia out on her lookbook* & Instagram*

My original plan was to dabble with some colour, but then I remembered this was me. I love my black crop tops and so I decided to style my new knit halter neck crop. It has a tie at the top and around the back, a little like a bikini but doesn't have the padding for you to get away with it. I am so excited to take this piece on holiday with me for the warmer weathers, but even now with it being spring I have started to dress it with high waited black skinny jeans & a fluffy cardigan! Whats more 90's than velvet? Pairing with the black knit crop I have gone for this velvet skirt from Ark, Giving me that goth grunge look that adds my own style to the look Stefani went for when she was in no doubt.

I originally was going to pair some creepers with this look but went for the pointy, heavy boots!
