I feel like a bubble gum fairy goddess and my god does it take me back to when I actually had pink hair!

How to style a Snapback with Salaam Apparel

Monday, 20 February 2017

One thing I absolutely love to do when it comes to fashion is experiment, my own personal style never being a set in stone thing! I wear what makes me feel most comfortable and it really depends on what I want to wear when I wake up in the morning. I could be feeling goth as hell, colourful if the suns out or wanting to wear the lightest piece of clothing I can find. I love to layer this winter but as we're coming upon Spring I can see myself pulling out lighter pieces from my wardrobe, whites, thin, long skirts and t-shirts! I'm always open to play around with new pieces that I normally wouldn't go for, which is where we say hello to Salaam Apparel!

Sunday, 19 February 2017

It felt weird last Sunday not posting my usual weekly round up post but instead you got an exciting OOTD lookbook featuring my best girl pal Midnight&Lace! I had so much fun working with another blogger! I wanted to share with you guys our fun shoot as soon as possible so now you get the fun of seeing what I got up to over the past two weeks! I pre warn, I can barely remember what I did yesterday so summarising my days from two weeks ago will be fun  (:

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Hope you're all feeling super loved up, for those in a relationship I hope you're being treated nice and lovely, for those who are single you do you and drank those cocktails! Or if you're one of those who hates participating in a little bit of fun, happy just another random day but have a happy one none the less! I never tend to do anything on Valentines day but I feel love for my partner just the same, I love to indulge in the holiday specials at Lush, buy chocolates and bubbly which are on special and watch some soppy love films! This year Joel is actually working away on Valentines (b00 n00) so I thought a post on what I like most about big old lurvvv day would be a nice, fun one!

Why you HAVE to let go of those bad relationships! REAL TALK #5

Monday, 13 February 2017

With all the lovey dovey posts happening this month because of course Valentines day is upon us, I wanted to write a post going in the complete opposite direction, just to spice things up a little on heartshapedbones! I don't really rate this time of the year, my birthday is a couple of days before Valentines so I tend to always celebrate that more in the same week it falls under! I despise getting hearts or red/pink related things for my birthday because it's so clear it's been bought from the Valentines section, but at the same time I'm not going to knock getting some nice flowers or chilling with cute films with my partner. We go out for food a lot so a date night for Valentines day is like any other date night, so I like to see it more like that than we've purely gone out just because it's that luv day in February. Anyway, even though Valentines doesn't hold anything for me I always get to thinking because everyone is doing the same, people in relationships are reflecting on their happiness and singles are talking about either dating or not dating, so out of self reflecting I've been thinking about my past relationships. I won't lie some of them we're pretty darn terrible (or else they would of worked out durrrrr) but from those terrible relationships I learnt a lot of things about myself and what I want!

My Netflix & Chill Films This Valentines

Sunday, 12 February 2017

Hello everybody! With my birthday only being a couple of days before Valentines day, I feel as if I unintentionally get involved each year because everything in February seems to gravitate towards the season. Films on tv, activity to do with my partner, products in store and even clothes, Valentines is everywhere whether you hate it or not and I kind of love it. I love seeing the red hearts, roses everywhere, sweet candles and most importantly the lush products (I bought a huge bottle of Prince Charming this afternoon) and I definitely indulge. Don't get me wrong, I never do anything to celebrate Valentines, Joel & I don't even get cards, put personally I don't mind a cheeky rom com with some bubbly that was half price in Asda! Whether you go on Netflix or the Sky movie section there's so many films perfect for the season, even if you're not particularly into romance, there's a number of options I love that have enough of other tones to the film to take away the soppiness! Everyone enjoys a little Netflix & chill time, and here are my favourite picks to get into the Valentines mood this year!

23 Things On My 23rd Birthday! Yay!

Thursday, 9 February 2017

It's my birthday! It's my birthday! I've never really celebrated my birthday with any big jester and I don't really know why. It's February and without fail each year the weather is always pretty crap, so there's no hope in going out and doing anything (we got snowed in once it was that bad) as well as everyone usually being at work. The last couple of years I have attempted to do a mini bar crawl around York with friends or Sheffield, but I'm not a huge fan of drinking so that's always fallen on its arse. My birthdays always pretty...normal like every other day. This year my blogger friend Robyn has come to visit and I feel so happy to finally be doing something different on the day, so to get myself in the happy mood about me getting another year older, here is 23 things that are currently happening! These are things that are making me happy, things that happened whilst I was 22 that defined the year for me and things I hope to do in 2017!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: How To Style A Hoody

Wednesday, 8 February 2017

I never thought I would own a hoody as they are too relaxed for my own personal style, but when I saw this Nirvana hoody eyeing me up from the Men's section (yes it's men's, the best place to find slouchy clothes) I knew I had to have it! This hoody gives me everything I want; black, comfortable and most of all grungy Nirvana feels! Nirvana has always been one of my favourite bands and my collection of band t-shirts, records and books is forever growing, not to mention Kurt Cobain was destined to be my soul mate (I understand how impossible this is but I feel it in my heart so leave me alone whilst I silently cry).

My Current Favourite Things \\ February

Tuesday, 7 February 2017

I feel as if I haven't done a favourites post in a while now and I'm pretty sure my last one was in November! Which considering I love to do them, is shocking. I love to put together the items in a flat lay because what blogger doesn't love a good flat lay (my best friend Robyn doesn't and I'm determined to turn her around) so I don't know why I've been lacking when it comes to creating a haul of things to share with you guys, but if you do want to see what I loved in both December & January, check out my youtube channel.

Sunday Week Summary #5 : My First Week In The House!

Sunday, 5 February 2017

As if another Sunday has rolled around again! I'm really enjoying writing out my week each Sunday and I hope you guys like it too, it feels like I have my own little online diary where I can share what I've been doing but also how I feel about certain things! This week was so much more relaxed than the last, it's been our first week in the house but I've felt completely at home.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: Witches Come Out At Night

Saturday, 4 February 2017

There's nothing better than finding a piece of clothing that's completely you and oh, would you look at that it's also on sale! Before I worked in retail I barely went physically shopping, on occasion I'd nip into Zara or H&M after university (how the tables have turned) but I never took note of anything on sale. In fact I think I only ever glanced at the Asos sale online from time to time, or on boohoo, but I'd always go for clothes in the 'NEW IN' section because who doesn't love keeping up with the trends. Working with clothing still makes me want to keep up with the trends, but it also makes me spend a hell of a lot of money. I have this bad habbit of buying an outfit rather than just one item, which I'd like to say I'm going to stop doing, but I really like clothes..anyway. One thing that makes me feel less bad for spending my money is when I find a good buy in the sale, I'm talking about something that's either the last one in your size or reduced so much you have to blink twice and ask someone else if you're seeing the right numbers. Not only was this shift dress the last one, hidden amongst colourful summer dressed, fits me perfectly booty and all but it was only £5!!! My the lord have mercy on my black dressed soul.

My Current Favourite Blogs! February 2017

Thursday, 2 February 2017

I feel as if I've been in and out of writers block and phases of inspiration to blog for so long now. I'm certain it comes hand in hand with the cold months because the second Winter hits I don't want to do anything, I rarely go outside because it's too cold and I just want to curl up to watch films (I'm sponge watching supernatural tv series like teen wolf eeee) or sleep! It happens every Winter, I get lazy and it really has reflected here on Heartshapedbones. I've lacked my usual...spirit in January and I refuse to let it continue! So heres to more and better content!

A Little Late Sunday Week Summary! #4 : WE FINALLY DID IT!

Wednesday, 1 February 2017

Ok so I feel incredibly bad that I haven't posted anything in an entire week! But then again am I even a blogger if I don't apologise for a short absence that you've all possibly not even noticed...I'm happy with my blog size (I say whilst inhaling air through a paper bag) no seriously. The idea of lots of people reading my blog is definitely the big dream, but with the stage I'm at now I'm so happy I can engage with every comment and most readers because it's not over baring. It's my favourite thing to do, so thank you for everyone who keeps up with my blog, social medias and leaves me so many lovely comments! (I'll stop being soppy now).
