OUTFIT OF THE DAY: The Versatile Blogger Award

9 Oct 2016

This time last week I was still in a complete buzz over attending the Blogger Blog Awards, so when the fabulous Sarah from Scarletstate nominated me for the tag 'The Versatile Blogger Award' I felt more than eager to jump on board. I rarely do tags on my blog (we'll ignore than on Wednesday I did just do the Autumn tag) so I thought it would be a nice change to let you guys get to know me better and spread some love by mentioning some of my favourite bloggers in the tag!

Here are the rules of The Versatile Blogger Award tag:
  1. Thank the person who nominated you (meee!)
  2. Share the award on your blog
  3. Share 7 facts about yourself
  4. Choose 10 bloggers with less than 1000 followers (I’ve chosen Bloglovin' but it could be from any platform)
  5. Notify them on social media

So here are seven facts about me, and my nominations!

1. I have a degree in Fine Art & I hate it.
If you've followed me on social media or even my blog when I was at university, you would of seen that I HATED my course. I wasn't doing what I loved, I kept my illustrations and crafts (which I love to do and sell) very separate and I found it really hard to find any motivation on projects when it came to university. It wasn't for me, I wish I'd done an illustration course and I managed to achieve so much outside of uni, which I think was the cherry on top to why I disliked my course. My word of advice to anyone considering university is choose a course you love or it's a complete waste of time.

2. I have two pet ratties!
I absolutely lurrrrvvvv my little furry babies, Clive and Henry! My boyfriend and I got two pet rats last year and I treat them like my children sometimes, which I'm not even ashamed of. Funny story, Clive and Henry are actually girls! We found out about 6 months after getting them that they had been sexed wrong.

3. I was such a fussy eater until I met my Boyfriend!
I swear I wouldn't eat anything before I met Joel, I disliked all the little ingredients that make dishes perfect! Onions, Tomatos, Spices, I would NEVER try spicy food especially Indian food and now I can't get enough! I hated eggs and now I eat them nearly every morning. Cheeses, my god I eat so much more cheese now. I don't know whether it was just my stubbornness or lack of knowledge into food, as a family we only cooked certain things and rarely tried new, so I'm happy I've opened up to more food! I can now thank Joel for forcing different foods upon me, must be true love.

4. I once had pink hair and my hairdresser snapped it off.
Over a year ago I had pink hair and I loved it, maybe a little too much because when my hairdresser snapped the top layers of my hair off I had to dye it black and it crushed me! I was so self conscious of my hair and had to wear hair extensions for a year until it grew back. I want pink hair so badly again but I'm scared any bleach will it kill it again.

5. I'd like to consider myself a little movie buff.
I LOVE films. I watch them at any given moment, even when doing other activities I always have one on in the background, new, old, classics, indie, I'm the first to dive into a new film to see what I think. Does anyone else watch film trailers in their spare time for hours? If I get onto the film trailer side of youtube, I can't stop myself. I love it when you go to a pub quiz or play on a quiz machine and there's a film genre, or when you meet someone who also loves films just as much! I quote for days.

6. I sleep talk like an absolute trooper.
This could be considered as a problem but I'm always asleep, so it's not a problem to me. I sleep talk pretty much every night and it's even got to a point where I will wake Joel up, just to sleep talk to him. Nothing makes sense, but I have really vivid dreams, which has to shadow what I'm saying. I used to sleep walk a lot too when I was younger, it's happened a couple of times whilst living with my Boyfriend. I don't really snore either, instead I make this humming noise every time I breathe and I am so surprised Joel hasn't smothered me in my sleep yet.

7. I've been trying to eat Vegetarian.
I don't want to put too much pressure on it because it makes me feel crap whenever I slip, but I've been trying to decrease the amount of meat I've been eating. When I used to work in a kitchen I never ate meat because it was so easy to choose vegetarian options when you cooked it yourself, and at home I found loads of nice things to eat which didn't contain meat! I kept slipping though like one or two days a week, especially when Joel cooked because he does eat meat. I think eating Vegetarian four/five days a week is still better than nothing! Hopefully I'll cut meat out all together because I do feel so much better doing it, I feel less bloated and it stops me from eating crap!

A little about my outfit before you go! I'd been scouting for a smart shirt for a while now because I love to style up smarter pieces for work, this frilly soft cotton shirt standing out because it doesn't remind me of what I used to wear to school. I always have that fear when it comes to white shirts, they can look so shapeless and uninteresting if they're not right to your body figure, but I love this one specifically for the frilly feature. I think it's perfect to wear with a pinafore, A-line skirt, the culottes I am wearing here or just anything that sits high waist! Baggy up top and fitted on the bottom! As for the bottom, I love culottes. I am so short so I never thought they would look good on me, but I tend to dress them with dainty heels to make my legs almost seem longer. I love this pair of culottes which I got from boohoo, they're three quarter which shows off the tattoo on my leg whilst also being high waisted with a bow belt attachment so I can really bring in my waist.

I hope you liked this little mixture of a post guys, I plan to involve a subject into my outfit of the day posts just because it gives you guys a little more content then HEY LOOK I HAVE CLOTHES ON AGAIN.
